Yes. The Presbyterian Church (USA) seeks to work ecumenically with Christians from many traditions and partners with interfaith and secular communities to promote peace, compassion, and the common good. We believe the Gospel calls us not only to proclaim the love of Jesus Christ but also to serve our neighbors and work for justice, reconciliation, and hope in our world. The Presbyterian Church (USA) does not view itself as the only faithful expression of Christianity or believe that any single denomination has a complete claim on God’s truth. Rather, we recognize that Christ’s Church is larger than any one tradition, and we seek to learn from and cooperate with others while remaining faithful to Scripture and our Reformed heritage.

We believe God calls both women and men to serve in leadership as pastors, elders, and deacons.

“Presbyterian” comes from a Greek word in the New Testament meaning “elder.” It refers to how our church is governed by elected leaders (teaching and ruling elders) who serve together in guiding the church’s mission and care.

“Reformed” describes a stream of Christianity rooted in the Protestant Reformation of the 16th century. It emphasizes God’s sovereign grace, the authority of Scripture, and salvation as a gift from God, not something we earn.

A Christian is someone who trusts in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and seeks to follow him in daily life. It is not about rules or being perfect, but about living in grace, growing in faith, and loving others.

Yes. We are committed to serving others through outreach, care, and acts of compassion.

Our worship is centered on Scripture, prayer, and preaching that is biblical and relevant to daily life. We blend traditional hymns with contemporary songs, and our choir helps lead and enrich our services. Worshipers can follow along through our printed bulletin and screen projection. We also offer livestreaming and recorded services through YouTube for those who are unable to attend in person. Together, we seek to glorify God and deepen our faith as a community.

Worship in the Bible was meant to be shared by everyone, with the congregation actively participating together. Speaking and responding in unison allows all people to join their voices in worship. These shared responses (such as the Call to Worship, Prayer of Confession, and Affirmation of Faith) also give us meaningful and thoughtful words to express our faith. They help guide us when we may not always know what to say—deepening our worship and focusing our hearts on God.

Come as you are. Some dress casually, others more formally. You will be comfortable either way.

The pastor may wear a robe and stole as symbols of the pastoral office, helping keep the focus on worship and God’s word rather than personal style. However, not all preachers are required to wear a robe or stole, and practices may vary.

We observe two sacraments instituted by Christ for the Church universal: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

We baptize both children and adults in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We recognize three forms of baptism: sprinkling, pouring, or immersion.

No. We believe there is “one Lord, one faith, one baptism” (Ephesians 4:4-6). We do not believe there is a separate “Presbyterian baptism”; rather, there is one Christian baptism that unites us with Christ and his Church universal. We recognize baptisms from other Christian traditions when they are administered with water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Baptism is God’s gift and promise, not something that depends on our memory, emotions, or personal experience. Because baptism points to our initiation into the Christian faith and our identity in Christ, it is received once rather than repeated. The Lord’s Supper, however, is different. While baptism marks our entrance into the covenant community, the Lord’s Supper is regularly repeated as a means of spiritual nourishment, strengthening our faith, and reminding us of Christ’s continuing presence and grace. In other words, baptism is primarily about God’s action and promise, while the Lord’s Supper is a continuing gift that sustains believers throughout their lifelong journey of faith. For those who wish to recommit their lives to Christ or who do not remember their baptism, we offer the opportunity to reaffirm their baptismal vows as a renewal of faith without being re-baptized.

We believe the Lord’s Supper is more than a symbolic remembrance, yet we do not believe the bread and cup become the physical body and blood of Christ. Rather, the bread and cup are signs and seals of God’s grace that point us to the real spiritual presence of the risen Christ. Through the Holy Spirit and by faith, Christ nourishes our souls, strengthens our relationship with him, and assures us of God’s love and grace. In the Eucharist, we remember what Christ has done for us in the past, experience his presence with us in the present, and look forward with hope to the promised fulfillment of God’s kingdom—the heavenly banquet with Christ. Holy Communion is therefore a sacred gift in which Christ meets us, renews our faith, and strengthens us for our journey of discipleship. In short, Christ is truly present, but he is not physically contained in the elements. The emphasis is that the Holy Spirit lifts believers spiritually to participate in Christ, rather than Christ being brought down physically into the bread and cup.

We celebrate Holy Communion (or the Eucharist) once a month, usually on the first Sunday.

All are welcome, including children and those who are not members of the church.

The only requirement is to profess Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

You may join in one of three ways:

• Profession of faith (through baptism in the name of the Triune God)
• Transfer from another church (by letter or verbal affirmation of membership)
• Reaffirmation of faith (if not currently connected to a church)

We believe every person is called and gifted by God to serve. Speak with the pastor or a ruling elder to find a place where you can serve and grow.

Yes. We provide childcare for preschool and elementary-aged children.

Yes. All volunteers of DPC working with children, youth, and vulnerable individuals must complete abuse prevention training, provide references, and pass a national background check.

Yes. Youth are encouraged to maintain their membership and participate fully in the life of DPC, including Sunday worship alongside their families. For midweek engagement, DPC partners with Journey Students, a youth ministry of Journey Church that meets each Wednesday evening in our adjacent Family Life Center. Journey Church is a separate, multi-site Baptist congregation. While we come from different Protestant traditions, we share a strong, respectful partnership and a common commitment to nurturing young people in faith. Together, these opportunities allow students to grow in their relationship with God, build meaningful friendships, and connect with caring adult leaders from both congregations.

Yes. DPC is pleased to host Scouting America troops for both boys and girls, providing a welcoming space where young people can develop leadership skills, build friendships, and serve their community. The Scouts meet weekly on DPC’s premises and participate in ongoing community service projects that foster character, responsibility, teamwork, and a spirit of service. Each year, DPC recognizes and celebrates the Scouts during a special Sunday worship service, honoring their achievements and contributions to the community. Through this partnership, DPC supports opportunities for young people to grow, serve, and become leaders who make a positive difference in the world.

Yes. Parking is available on-site, including designated spaces for Deltona Presbyterian Church (DPC) and accessible (handicap) parking.

At this time, we do not provide sign language services.
