Our Local Missions
Food Pantry
For decades, Deltona Presbyterian Church (DPC) has been committed to serving our neighbors through a dedicated Food Pantry ministry. Every other Tuesday, a faithful team of volunteers welcomes individuals and families in need to the Fellowship Hall, where canned goods, bread, pastries, and meat are distributed with compassion and care.
Serving approximately 1,400 household members each month and distributing more than 13,000 bags of groceries annually, the Food Pantry has become a recognized ministry of outreach within the city and county. Through this ongoing ministry, DPC shares God’s love by providing nourishment, hope, and support to our broader community.
Thanksgiving Baskets
Each year, DPC partners with local Girl Scout troops to share the blessings of Thanksgiving by providing holiday food baskets, including gift cards for turkeys or traditional Thanksgiving provisions, to more than 120 families in our community.
Through the generosity of our congregation and the dedication of our volunteers, these baskets help ensure that neighbors in need can experience the joy and abundance of the Thanksgiving season. This ministry reflects Christ’s call to serve others with compassion, gratitude, and love.
Adopt-A-School
Through our Adopt-A-School ministry, DPC partners with two local public schools to support students, teachers, and families throughout the year.
The congregation provides essential school supplies, responds to specific classroom needs, or offers encouragement to educators serving on the front lines of our community. This ongoing partnership reflects our commitment to investing in the next generation and sharing Christ’s love through practical care, generosity, and meaningful connection.
Fostering Connections
Through our partnership with Fostering Connections (Guardian ad Litem), DPC helps children in the foster care system throughout Volusia County. This ministry provides essential items, resources, and encouragement to children who are navigating difficult and uncertain circumstances.
By supporting advocates who speak on behalf of these children’s best interests, our congregation seeks to offer stability, dignity, and hope. Through acts of compassion and generosity, we share Christ’s love with some of the most vulnerable members of our community.
Alcoholics Anonymous (AA)
An Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) group meets regularly on DPC’s premises—offering a safe, confidential, and supportive environment for individuals seeking recovery from alcohol addiction.
Rooted in mutual encouragement and accountability, these gatherings provide a space for sharing, healing, and hope. DPC is grateful to host this important ministry of care for the wider community.
Supporting Survivors of Human Trafficking
DPC partners with a nonprofit organization dedicated to combating human trafficking and supporting survivors.
Through this mutual relationship, DPC provides needed clothing and other donated items to support their outreach, while the organization contributes canned goods to assist DPC’s Food Pantry ministry. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to caring for vulnerable neighbors, meeting practical needs, and working together to bring hope, dignity, and compassion to our community.
Pet Shot Clinics
DPC periodically hosts Pet Shot Clinics on select Sundays, providing an opportunity for community members to access convenient and affordable pet care services.
These events help support the health and well-being of beloved pets while offering a welcoming way for DPC to serve our neighbors. Through practical acts of care and hospitality, DPC continues to build connections and share God’s love with the larger community.
Christmas Caroling
Each Advent season, members and friends of DPC share the joy and hope of Christ’s birth through Christmas Caroling visits to local nursing and rehabilitation centers.
Through songs, fellowship, and heartfelt greetings, our members bring encouragement, comfort, and holiday cheer to residents who may be unable to attend worship or celebrate the season with their loved ones. This cherished tradition reflects DPC’s commitment to sharing God’s love through presence, compassion, and joyful service.
Center for the Blind
DPC welcomes the Center for the Blind, which utilizes our facilities to provide support and education for individuals experiencing vision impairment.
Through a six-week program, participants who have recently been diagnosed with vision loss receive practical guidance, resources, and encouragement to help them adapt to changes in their daily lives. DPC is grateful to provide a welcoming space for this important ministry of care, empowerment, and community support.
Central Florida Presbytery
As a member of Central Florida Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church (USA), DPC participates in the shared ministry and mission of the larger Church through Shared Mission giving and Per Capita support.
Through Shared Mission, DPC joins with other congregations to support ministries of evangelism, church development, mission outreach, and the work of the Presbytery and the broader Church. Through Per Capita, DPC helps support the governance and connectional life of the Presbyterian Church (USA), including the work of Presbytery, Synod, and General Assembly ministries that strengthen and equip congregations. Together, these commitments reflect DPC’s dedication to serving Christ beyond our local congregation and participating in the mission of the wider Church.
